Oliver is located {{convert|5|mi|km}} west of the city of [[Superior, Wisconsin|Superior]] and {{convert|0.3|mi|km}} east of [[Gary – New Duluth]], [[Duluth, Minnesota|Duluth]], [[Minnesota]].

==Transportation==
Union Street ([[Wisconsin Highway 105]]) serves as a main route in the community.  The [[Oliver Bridge]] across the [[Saint Louis River (Lake Superior tributary)|Saint Louis River]] connects the village of Oliver with the city of [[Duluth, Minnesota]] and the nearby neighborhood of [[Gary – New Duluth]].

The [[population density]] was {{convert|193.7|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 167 housing units at an average density of {{convert|81.1|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the village was 96.5% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.3% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.5% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], and 1.8% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.3% of the population.

There were 159 households, of which 35.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.9% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 9.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 27.0% were non-families. 22.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 2.92.

The median age in the village was 41.9 years. 25.6% of residents were under the age of 18; 4.6% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 24.6% were from 25 to 44; 37.1% were from 45 to 64; and 8.3% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 51.4% male and 48.6% female.

The [[population density]] was 174.9 people per square mile (67.4/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 128 housing units at an average density of 62.5 per square mile (24.1/km<sup>2</sup>). The racial makeup of the village was 97.21% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.68% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 1.12% from two or more races.

There were 127 households, out of which 44.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.9% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 12.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.3% were non-families. 12.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 3.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.82 and the average family size was 3.04.

In the village, the population was spread out, with 30.2% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 31.6% from 25 to 44, 23.2% from 45 to 64, and 8.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 105.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.6 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $41,750, and the median income for a family was $45,250. Males had a median income of $35,625 versus $20,357 for females.
