Two landmarks were created in the early part of the twentieth century, but only one survives. In 1925, Carl Fischer constructed the [[FulfordβMiami Speedway]] in the present-day Sky Lake neighborhood.<ref name=NMBturns90/> The wooden race track was then billed as the world's fastest.
