Oglesby is located in eastern Coryell County {{convert|7|mi|0}} west of [[McGregor, Texas|McGregor]] and {{convert|15|mi}} east of [[Gatesville, Texas|Gatesville]].

The racial makeup of the city was 91.70% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.53% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 6.55% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.22% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 11.35% of the population.

There were 174 households, out of which 36.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.1% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 11.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.5% were non-families. 28.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 19.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 3.24.

In the city, the population was spread out, with 28.4% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females, there were 90.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.2 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $26,429, and the median income for a family was $35,000. Males had a median income of $27,500 versus $18,056 for females.
