Oakwood is located in eastern Dewey County just southwest of U.S. Routes [[U.S. Route 270 in Oklahoma|270]] and [[U.S. Route 281 in Oklahoma|281]], which lead {{convert|20|mi}} northwest to [[Seiling, Oklahoma|Seiling]] and southeast {{convert|19|mi}} to [[Watonga, Oklahoma|Watonga]].

The racial makeup of the town was 94.44% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.39% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 1.39% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 2.78% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.39% of the population.

There were 35 households, out of which 22.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.9% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 2.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 48.6% were non-families. 42.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 20.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
