The township is located in western Crawford County, bordered to the west by [[Ashtabula County, Ohio|Ashtabula County]] in [[Ohio]]. According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the township has a total area of {{convert|67.7|sqkm|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|48.6|sqkm|order=flip}} is land and {{convert|19.2|sqkm|order=flip}}, or 28.31%, is water.<ref name="Census 2010"/> The northern and western sides of the township lie within [[Pymatuning Reservoir]], one of the largest reservoirs in Pennsylvania.

The racial makeup of the township was 98.99% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.14% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.14% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.07% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], and 0.65% from two or more races. In the township the population was spread out, with 17.3% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 20.0% from 25 to 44, 32.7% from 45 to 64, and 25.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 50 years. For every 100 females, there were 99.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.8 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $28,207, and the median income for a family was $34,954. Males had a median income of $30,298 versus $18,846 for females.
