Newtown is concentrated around the intersection of [[Indiana State Road 55|State Road 55]] and [[Indiana State Road 341|State Road 341]] northwest of [[Indianapolis, Indiana|Indianapolis]].

The racial makeup of the town was 95.3% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 2.0% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.8% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 2.0% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.6% of the population.
