==Geography==
Newmanstown is in southeastern [[Lebanon County, Pennsylvania|Lebanon County]] along the northeastern edge of Millcreek Township. It is bordered to the northeast by [[Marion Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania|Marion Township]] and [[Heidelberg Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania|Heidelberg Township]] in [[Berks County, Pennsylvania|Berks County]]. [[Pennsylvania Route 419|Route 419]] runs through the center of town as Main Street, leading northeast {{convert|2|mi|0}} to [[Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania|Womelsdorf]] and southwest {{convert|6|mi|0}} to [[Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania|Schaefferstown]]. [[Lebanon, Pennsylvania|Lebanon]], the [[county seat]], is {{convert|12|mi}} to the west of Newmanstown, and [[Reading, Pennsylvania|Reading]] is {{convert|16|mi}} to the east.

As of the 2000 census,<ref name="GR2">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|accessdate=2008-01-31|title=U.S. Census website}}</ref> there were 1,536 people, 603 households, and 417 families residing in the CDP. The population density was {{convert|702.3|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 635 housing units at an average density of {{convert|290.3|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.05% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.52% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.26% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.52% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.65% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.56% of the population.

There were 603 households, out of which 33.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.7% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.7% were non-families. 25.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.53 and the average family size was 3.05.

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 25.5% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 23.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 98.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.6 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $43,098, and the median income for a family was $47,308. Males had a median income of $29,280 versus $21,759 for females. The [[per capita income]] for the CDP was $18,284. About 1.8% of families and 3.3% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 4.7% of those under age 18 and 4.7% of those age 65 or over.
