It is bordered to the north by the borough of [[Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey|Atlantic Highlands]]. [[New Jersey Route 36]] runs close to the northern border of the community, leading east {{convert|2|mi|0}} to the borough of [[Highlands, New Jersey|Highlands]] and west {{convert|10|mi|0}} to [[Keyport, New Jersey|Keyport]]. According to the [[United States Census Bureau|U.S. Census Bureau]], Navesink has a total area of {{convert|0.895|sqmi|3}}, including {{convert|0.884|sqmi|3}} of land and {{convert|0.011|sqmi|3}} of water (1.23%).<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2024"/> The community is drained to the south by Claypit Creek, a tributary of the tidal [[Navesink River]]. The average household size was 2.93 and the average family size was 3.26.<ref name=Census2000/> The population was spread out, with 26.2% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.5% who were 65 years of age or older.
