==Geography==
Mutual is located at the intersection of State Routes [[Ohio State Route 29|29]] and [[Ohio State Route 161|161]].  The nearest stream is Buck Creek, a [[tributary]] of the [[Mad River (Ohio)|Mad River]], which flows about 1 mile (1½ km) west of the community. The [[population density]] was {{convert|800.0|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 54 housing units at an average density of {{convert|415.4|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the village was 97.1% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]] and 2.9% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]].

There were 48 households, of which 25.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.1% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 6.3% had a female householder with no husband present, 8.3% had a male householder with no wife present, and 33.3% were non-families. 29.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 23% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.69.

The median age in the village was 45.5 years. 23.1% of residents were under the age of 18; 1.9% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 24.1% were from 25 to 44; 25% were from 45 to 64; and 26% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 51.0% male and 49.0% female.

[[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.52% of the population.

There were 51 households, out of which 37.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.6% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.6% were non-families. 19.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 2.90.

In the village, the population was spread out, with 23.5% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 35.6% from 25 to 44, 18.9% from 45 to 64, and 15.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 73.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 77.2 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $50,000, and the median income for a family was $51,875. Males had a median income of $30,750 versus $23,750 for females.
