==History==

The first recorded European to come through Mohave Valley was [[Melchor Díaz]]. ==Geography==
Mohave Valley is located in western Mohave County in the [[Mohave Valley|valley of the same name]], drained by the [[Colorado River]]. The CDP is on the east side of [[Arizona State Route 95]], which leads {{convert|3|mi|0}} north to [[Fort Mohave, Arizona|Fort Mohave]], {{convert|16|mi}} north to [[Bullhead City, Arizona|Bullhead City]], and {{convert|6|mi|0}} south to [[Needles, California]], across the Colorado River. The Mohave Valley CDP is bordered to the south by [[Arizona Village, Arizona|Arizona Village]], to the west by [[Willow Valley, Arizona|Willow Valley]], and to the north by [[Mohave Ranch Estates, Arizona|Mohave Ranch Estates]], all CDPs.

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the Mohave Valley CDP has a total area of {{convert|14.0|sqmi}}, of which {{convert|0.02|sqmi|2}}, or 0.11%, are water.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2021"/>

As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=January 31, 2008|title=U.S. Census website}}</ref> of 2000, there were 13,694 people, 5,217 households, and 3,850 families residing in the CDP.  The population density was {{convert|302.6|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  There were 6,672 housing units at an average density of {{convert|147.4|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  The racial makeup of the CDP was 90.8% [[Race (United States Census)|White]], 0.5% [[Race (United States Census)|Black]] or [[Race (United States Census)|African American]], 2.3% [[Race (United States Census)|Native American]], 0.9% [[Race (United States Census)|Asian]], 0.1% [[Race (United States Census)|Pacific Islander]], 3.3% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 2.1% from two or more races.  12.0% of the population were [[Race (United States Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Race (United States Census)|Latino]] of any race.

There were 5,217 households, out of which 29.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.4% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.2% were non-families. 19.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.  The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 2.94.

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 24.6% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 27.4% from 45 to 64, and 16.5% who were 65 years of age or older.  The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females, there were 101.9 males.  For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.9 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $34,321, and the median income for a family was $38,897. Males had a median income of $29,719 versus $21,271 for females. The [[per capita income]] for the CDP was $16,287.  About 7.9% of families and 11.0% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 15.5% of those under age 18 and 6.1% of those age 65 or over.

==Agriculture==
Agriculture constitutes a major portion of Mohave Valley's economy.
