On July 1, 2014, the former McCloud River Lumber Company site was purchased by an eclectic group of investors, McCloud Partners, LLC. This group has revived the property after being closed, vandalized, and abandoned for almost two decades. McCloud Partners has turned the property into a self funded enterprise zone that supports new business, employment opportunities, and new ideas. The property hosts several fire agencies and fire agency support services. It has hosted 3 CalFire Fire Camps with abundant water resources, an air support dipping pond, and hostfacilities. The importance of property stewardship shows the priority how the partnership values the community in where it's located. ==Notable people== * Pat Clements - baseball player * Joel DeBortoli - basketball player * Rolin Eslinger - professional world champion lumberjack * Jerre Noe - computer scientist * Mike Summers - broadcaster ==See also== California * List of census-designated places in California * Ross McCloud, origin of place name ==References== 22em ==External links== McCloud, California * McCloud Chamber of Commerce website * McCloud Information website authority control
