The western boundary of the town is formed by the [[Chippewa River (Wisconsin)|Chippewa River]], a tributary of the [[Mississippi River|Mississippi]]. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females, there were 107.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 116.2 males. The median income for a household in the town was $42,813, and the median income for a family was $50,625. Males had a median income of $27,500 versus $21,563 for females. About 10.6% of families and 8.3% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 4.0% of those under age 18 and 37.0% of those age 65 or over. == Transportation == [[Wisconsin Highway 25|Wisconsin State Highway 25]] runs through the town in a north–south direction. The Tiffany Bottoms historical railroad runs the length of the town of Maxville, on track formerly owned by the [[Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad|Milwaukee Road]]. Disused since 1977 due to a derailment, the track rights were leased from [[Xcel Energy]] to the Chippewa Valley Motor Car Association in 1995, and subsequently from the [[Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources|Wisconsin DNR]] since 2021.
