It is part of the [[Pendleton, Oregon|Pendleton]]&ndash;[[Hermiston, Oregon|Hermiston]] [[Pendleton-Hermiston micropolitan area|Micropolitan Statistical Area]].

==History==
Lexington was named by early settler William Penland for his hometown of [[Lexington, Kentucky]].<ref name=OGN>{{cite ogn|7th|page=576}}</ref> Lexington post office was established in 1885.<ref name=OGN/>

Sheep ranching was important in the region during the days of early settlement by non-natives. It continues in the 21st&nbsp;century and has been joined by wheat farming and cattle ranching as significant uses of the land.<ref name="Backroads of Oregon"/>

As of 2002, Lexington's largest employers were the Morrow County Grain Growers (farms), the Columbia Basin Electric Co-op in Heppner, a metal fabrication company in Heppner, and a small company in Lexington that repaired farm equipment.<ref name="Infrastructure Authority"/>

As of the [[census]] of 2010, there were 238 people, 94 households, and 70 families residing in the town. The [[population density]] was {{convert|540.9|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 101 housing units at an average density of {{convert|229.5|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the town was 92.4% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.4% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 1.7% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 5.5% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.3% of the population.<ref name ="wwwcensusgov"/>

The racial makeup of the town was 96.96% White, 1.14% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.76% Asian, 0.38% from other races, and 0.76% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.38% of the population.<ref name ="wwwcensusgov"/>

There were 102 households, out of which 29.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.7% were married couples living together, 4.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.4% were non-families. 20.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
