Laurie is located along the southern border of Morgan County, and a small portion extends south into Camden County. It is about {{convert|2|mi|0}} north of the [[Lake of the Ozarks]]. The racial makeup of the city was 97.8% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.2% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.3% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.1% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 1.6% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.6% of the population.
