==Geography==

Lakeside City is located in northeastern Archer County along the south shore of [[Lake Wichita]]. The Archer County/[[Wichita County, Texas|Wichita County]] border runs through Lake Wichita, with the city of [[Wichita Falls, Texas|Wichita Falls]] on the north side of the border. Downtown Wichita Falls is {{convert|8|mi|0}} to the northeast. [[Texas State Highway 79]] touches the southeastern border of the town, leading northeast to Wichita Falls and southwest {{convert|17|mi}} to [[Archer City, Texas|Archer City]], the county seat.

As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2008, there were 1,048 people, 353 households, and 301 families residing in the town. The population density was {{convert|1,572.7|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 366 housing units at an average density of {{convert|585.0|/mi2|/km2|disp=preunit|units&nbsp;|units|}}. The racial makeup of the town was 97.2% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.30% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.30% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.10% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.41% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.61% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.63% of the population.
