The municipality comprises Koekelare proper, but also contains the villages [[Bovekerke]], [[Zande, Belgium|Zande]] and [[De Mokker]]. Bovekerke and Zande are "[[deelgemeente]]s", who were independent municipalities until the 70s; De Mokker is part of Koekelare proper.
