During [[World War II]], Jerome was home to a [[Japanese American internment]] camp, the [[Jerome War Relocation Center]] (1942–1944), designed by [[Edward F. The racial makeup of the city was 76.09% [[Race (United States Census)|White]], 6.52% [[Race (United States Census)|Black]] or [[Race (United States Census)|African American]], 17.39% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]]. 17.39% of the population were [[Race (United States Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Race (United States Census)|Latino]] of any race.
