'''Ivins''' ({{IPAc-en|ˈ|aɪ|v|ᵻ|n|z}} {{respell|EYE|vinz}}) is a city in southwestern [[Washington County, Utah|Washington County]], [[Utah]], United States. It is a part of the [[St. George, Utah|St. George Metropolitan Area]] as a [[suburb]] or "bedroom" community. ==Geography==
According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the city has a total area of {{convert|10.3|mi2|km2}}, of which {{convert|10.2|mi2|km2|abbr=on}} is land and {{convert|0.1|mi2|km2|abbr=on}} (0.68%) is water.

Ivins is near [[Tuacahn]] (an outdoor arts and amphitheater) and [[Snow Canyon State Park]], which draw many people to the area. There are many new planned developments (some with golf courses) near or in Ivins, joining the earlier Kayenta and Padre Canyon developments.

As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 4,450 people, 1,435 households, and 1,234 families residing in the town. The [[population density]] was 436.3 people per square mile (168.4/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 1,598 housing units at an average density of 156.7 per square mile (60.5/km<sup>2</sup>). The racial makeup of the town was 93.96% [[White (U.S. census)|White]], 0.07% [[African American (U.S. census)|African American]], 1.19% [[Native American (U.S. census)|Native American]], 0.34% [[Asian (U.S. census)|Asian]], 0.34% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. census)|Pacific Islander]], 2.04% from [[Race (United States census)|other races]], and 2.07% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. census)|Latino]] of any race were 3.93% of the population.

There were 1,435 households, out of which 43.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 76.0% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 7.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.0% were non-families. 11.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.10 and the average family size was 3.35.

In the town the population was spread out, with 33.1% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 20.1% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 30 years. For every 100 females, there were 98.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.9 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $41,297, and the median income for a family was $43,103. Males had a median income of $30,868 versus $21,719 for females. About 4.9% of families and 6.8% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 9.8% of those under age 18 and 3.4% of those age 65 or over.

The [[Tuacahn|Tuacahn Center for the Arts]] in Ivins is the largest professional outdoor theater in Utah, employing between 100 and 250 people.
