==Geography==
Isola is located in northern Humphreys County. It is bordered to the north by [[Sunflower County, Mississippi|Sunflower County]]. [[U.S. Route 49W]] passes through the east side of the town, leading north {{convert|15|mi}} to [[Indianola, Mississippi|Indianola]] and southeast {{convert|8|mi|0}} to [[Belzoni, Mississippi|Belzoni]], the Humphreys County seat.

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of {{convert|0.7|sqmi|km2}}, all land.<ref name="Census 2010"/> The southeast end of Lake Dawson, an old river channel, is near the northwest corner of the town. The lake leads northwest and connects via Pawson Bayou to the [[Big Sunflower River]], a tributary of the [[Yazoo River]].

The population density was {{convert|1,040.5|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 307 housing units at an average density of {{convert|415.9|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the town was 63.67% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 32.68% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.52% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 2.73% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.39% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 3.12% of the population.
