==Geography==
Hunnewell is located in the southeast corner of Shelby County adjacent to [[US Route 36]]. [[Monroe City, Missouri|Monroe City]] in adjacent [[Monroe County, Missouri|Monroe County]] is approximately 6.5 miles to the east and [[Shelbina, Missouri|Shelbina]] is nine miles to the west along Route 36. The racial makeup of the city was 98.9% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.5% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 0.5% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 2.2% of the population.

The racial makeup of the city was 90.31% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 8.37% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], and 1.32% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.44% of the population.

There were 95 households, out of which 31.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.5% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 12.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.7% were non-families. 30.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 3.03.

In the city the population was spread out, with 26.4% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 30.0% from 25 to 44, 20.3% from 45 to 64, and 17.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 110.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 106.2 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $24,861, and the median income for a family was $31,429. Males had a median income of $28,750 versus $22,500 for females.
