Houstonia is located at the intersection of Missouri routes [[Missouri Route K|K]] and [[Missouri Route OO|OO]] approximately 2.5 miles south of the Pettis-[[Saline County, Missouri|Saline]] county line and 15 miles northwest of [[Sedalia, Missouri|Sedalia]]. The racial makeup of the city was 97.7% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.5% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.5% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.9% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], and 0.5% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.5% of the population.
