Holland gained media attention after 13-year-old [[Murder of Kacie Woody|Kacie Woody]] was reported missing from her home in this area in 2002; an investigation revealed that she was abducted by a [[California]] man she befriended online while he had [[catfishing|pretended to be a teen boy]]. The next day their bodies were found inside a storage unit in [[Conway, Arkansas|Conway]], after he had fatally shot her and later himself. ==Geography==

[[Arkansas Highway 287]] passes through the town, leading west {{convert|8|mi|0}} to [[U.S. Route 65]] at [[Springhill, Faulkner County, Arkansas|Springhill]] and south {{convert|3|mi|0}} to [[Arkansas Highway 36]]. [[Conway, Arkansas|Conway]], the [[county seat]], is {{convert|14|mi}} to the southwest of Holland.

The population density was {{convert|83.9|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 235 housing units at an average density of {{convert|34.2|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the city was 96.01% [[Race (United States Census)|White]], 1.39% [[Race (United States Census)|Native American]], 0.17% [[Race (United States Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.17% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 2.25% from two or more races. 0.35% of the population were [[Race (United States Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Race (United States Census)|Latino]] of any race.

There were 217 households, out of which 36.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.1% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 12.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.4% were non-families. 21.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.  The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 3.01.

In the city, the population was spread out, with 28.4% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 19.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.0% who were 65 years of age or older.  The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females, there were 107.6 males.  For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.5 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $32,368, and the median income for a family was $34,583. Males had a median income of $29,219 versus $20,982 for females. About 10.6% of families and 15.1% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 21.1% of those under age 18 and 7.8% of those age 65 or over.
