[[New York State Route 18]] passes through the village, entering from the south and departing to the west. It leads southeast {{convert|5|mi|0}} to [[North Greece, New York|North Greece]] and west {{convert|7|mi|0}} to [[Hamlin (CDP), New York|Hamlin]]. [[New York State Route 259|State Route 259]] also passes through the center of Hilton, leading south {{convert|7|mi|0}} to [[Spencerport, New York|Spencerport]] and north {{convert|3|mi|0}} to its terminus at the [[Lake Ontario State Parkway]].

The population density was {{convert|3,494.2|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 2,128 housing units at an average density of {{convert|1,269.7|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the village was 96.70% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.66% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.14% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.56% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.19% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.75% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.49% of the population.

There were 2,041 households, out of which 44.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.7% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 11.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.9% were non-families. 21.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.80 and the average family size was 3.29.

In the village, the population was spread out, with 31.3% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 33.0% from 25 to 44, 18.6% from 45 to 64, and 10.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females, there were 92.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.9 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $51,336, and the median income for a family was $57,440. Males had a median income of $44,779 versus $27,192 for females.
