There were 715 housing units at an average density of {{convert|760.6|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The [[Race and ethnicity in the United States Census#2010 census|racial make-up]] of the city was 99.2% White, 0.1% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.1% Asian, 0.1% from other races, and 0.3% from two or more races. Of the 670 households 30.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.4% were married couples living together, 4.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.9% were non-families. 34.5% of households were one person and 22.1% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.36 and the average family size was 3.12.

The age distribution was 27.3% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 22.4% from 25 to 44, 18.3% from 45 to 64, and 25.9% 65 or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 96.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.0 males.

The median household income was $33,365, and the median family income  was $43,897. Males had a median income of $30,848 versus $18,452 for females. The per capita income for the city was $16,133.
