The unincorporated community of Harrisville is located in the town. According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of 30.9&nbsp;square miles (80.0&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) of which 30.6&nbsp;square miles (79.2&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) is land and 0.3&nbsp;square miles (0.8&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) is water. The total area is 0.94% water.

== Demographics ==
At the 2000 [[census]],<ref name="GR2" /> there were 729 people, 294 households, and 211 families residing in the town. The [[population density]] was 23.8 per square mile (9.2/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 359 housing units at an average density of 11.7 per square mile (4.5/km<sup>2</sup>). The racial makeup of the town was 98.08% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.27% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.14% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.14% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.41% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.27% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 0.69% from two or more races. 1.78% of the population were [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race.

There were 294 households, of which 28.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.9% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 5.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.2% were non-families. 22.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 2.89.
