Greenwood is ten miles from the county seat, [[Marianna, Florida|Marianna]], and the town of [[Malone, Florida|Malone]]. Both are much larger than Greenwood, and most residents of the area go to school or work in either of those two towns.

The population density was {{convert|153.3|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  There were 335 housing units at an average density of {{convert|69.9|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  The racial makeup of the town was 66.67% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 26.94% [[Black (U.S. Census)|African American]], 1.22% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.95% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 1.90% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 2.31% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 2.72% of the population.
