==Geography==
Greenevers is located in southern Duplin County. [[North Carolina Highway 11]] forms the western edge of the town; it leads north {{convert|10|mi|0}} to [[Kenansville, North Carolina|Kenansville]], the [[county seat]], and southwest {{Convert|7|mi|0}} to [[Wallace, North Carolina|Wallace]]. [[Interstate 40 in North Carolina|Interstate 40]] is {{convert|3|mi|0}} to the west by West Charity Road and {{convert|4|mi|0}} to the southwest via NC 11.

As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 560 people, 210 households, and 140 families residing in the town. The population density was {{convert|348.0|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 236 housing units at an average density of {{convert|146.6|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the town was 9.46% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 85.18% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.71% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 4.29% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.36% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 7.50% of the population.

There were 210 households, out of which 35.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 28.1% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 31.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.9% were non-families. 30.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
