The racial makeup of the village was 99.0% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.6% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.2% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], and 0.2% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.8% of the population.

Grantwood Village is home to two major attractions: the [[Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site]] (White Haven) and [[Grant's Farm]]. Most of the village, including Grant's Farm, was once part of the larger plantation owned by [[Julia Grant|Mrs. Grant's]] family. The farm itself was purchased by [[August Anheuser Busch, Sr.]], and is the ancestral home to family members of [[Anheuser-Busch]].
