Glenwood Landing is mainly within the [[Oyster Bay (town), New York|Town of Oyster Bay]] but a small section in the southwest corner is in the [[North Hempstead, New York|Town of North Hempstead]]. It is a part of the [[North Shore School District]]. It is considered part of the greater Glen Cove area, which is anchored by the City of [[Glen Cove, New York|Glen Cove]].

The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.37% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.28% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 2.60% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.59% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 1.16% from two or more races.
