==Geography==
Gideon is concentrated around the intersection of [[Missouri Route 153]] and [[Missouri Route 162]], in the western [[Missouri Bootheel|Bootheel]].  The city of [[Clarkton, Missouri|Clarkton]] lies just to the west.

The [[population density]] was {{convert|610.6|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 458 housing units at an average density of {{convert|255.9|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the city was 99.36% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.09% [[Black (U.S. Census)|Black]] or [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], and 0.55% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.27% of the population.

[[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.99% of the population.

==Education==
Gideon has a public school system which has two school facilities, Gideon Elementary and Gideon High School. The bulldog is the mascot for the Gideon schools.
