According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of 35.3&nbsp;square miles (91.5&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>), of which 35.3&nbsp;square miles (91.3&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) is land and 0.1&nbsp;square miles (0.2&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) (0.25%) is water.

==Demographics==
As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 1,352 people, 471 households, and 374 families residing in the town. The [[population density]] was 38.3 people per square mile (14.8/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 495 housing units at an average density of 14.0 per square mile (5.4/km<sup>2</sup>). The racial makeup of the town was 98.96% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.07% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.07% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.07% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.07% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], and 0.74% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] people of any race were 0.52% of the population.

There were 471 households, out of which 39.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.5% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 3.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.4% were non-families. 15.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
