==Geography==
Georgetown is located in eastern Copiah County at {{coord|31|52|16|N|90|9|51|W|type:city}}. [[Mississippi Highway 28]] leads west {{convert|14|mi}} to [[Hazlehurst, Mississippi|Hazlehurst]], the [[county seat]], and east {{convert|29|mi}} to [[Magee, Mississippi|Magee]]. [[Mississippi Highway 27]] crosses Highway 28 on the northern edge of town and leads northwest {{convert|15|mi}} to [[Crystal Springs, Mississippi|Crystal Springs]] and south {{convert|23|mi}} to [[Monticello, Mississippi|Monticello]].

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], Georgetown has a total area of {{convert|1.8|km2|disp=flip}}, of which {{convert|0.02|km2|disp=flip|3}}, or 1.23%, is water.<ref name="Census 2010"/>

The population density was {{convert|513.2|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 152 housing units at an average density of {{convert|226.8|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the town was 68.02% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 29.94% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.87% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 1.16% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.74% of the population.

There were 135 households, out of which 34.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.7% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 19.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.1% were non-families. 33.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 3.27.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 29.9% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 11.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females, there were 90.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.2 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $25,781, and the median income for a family was $31,000. Males had a median income of $28,958 versus $20,313 for females.
