Froid is located near the [[North Dakota]] border and north of [[Culbertson, Montana|Culbertson]], on [[Montana Highway 16|Highway 16]].

The [[population density]] was {{convert|660.7|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 117 housing units at an average density of {{convert|417.9|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the town was 97.3% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.5% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 2.2% from two or more races.

There were 92 households, of which 21.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.7% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 5.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 1.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 46.7% were non-families. 43.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 21.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The racial makeup of the town was 90.77% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 5.64% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 1.54% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 2.05% from two or more races.
