==History==
The Maxwell Post Office was opened on June 24, 1875, and lasted until September 6, 1880. Two post offices ceased operations in 1904 Tebo on May 31<ref name=Tpo/> and Michie Post Office on October 15.<ref name=Mpo/>  Lengsville PO closed on March 31, 1911.<ref name=Lpo/>

==Geography==
Fraser Township is located on the western shore of [[Lake Huron]]'s [[Saginaw Bay]], north of the center of Bay County.

==Demographics==
As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 3,375 people, 1,292 households, and 1,003 families residing in the township.  The population density was {{convert|104.4|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  There were 1,374 housing units at an average density of {{convert|42.5|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  The racial makeup of the township was 97.78% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.30% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.56% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.36% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.12% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.89% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.39% of the population.

There were 1,292 households, out of which 31.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.4% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.3% were non-families. 19.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.  The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 2.97.

In the township the population was spread out, with 23.9% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 28.3% from 45 to 64, and 11.9% who were 65 years of age or older.  The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 100.2 males.  For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.9 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $41,581, and the median income for a family was $50,111. Males had a median income of $36,107 versus $24,570 for females. The [[per capita income]] for the township was $18,721.  About 8.7% of families and 9.2% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 10.2% of those under age 18 and 16.4% of those age 65 or over.
