==Geography==
Fountain is in northeast Mason County, {{convert|15|mi}} northeast of [[Ludington, Michigan|Ludington]], the [[county seat]] ({{convert|19|mi}} by road). According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the village has a total area of {{convert|1.02|sqmi|sqkm|2}}, all of it recorded as land.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2022"/> The North Branch of the [[Lincoln River]] flows westward through the southern part of the village.

The racial makeup of the village was 91.7% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 3.1% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], and 5.2% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 3.6% of the population.
