The village is located about halfway between [[Clintonville, Wisconsin|Clintonville]], and [[Shawano, Wisconsin|Shawano]], on [[Wisconsin State Highway 22]].

==Name==
Many of the early [[lumberjack]]s in the town were [[French Canadian]]s. The [[population density]] was {{convert|345.3|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 151 housing units at an average density of {{convert|129.1|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the village was 97.0% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.5% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 1.0% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.7% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 0.7% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.7% of the population.

The racial makeup of the village was 100.00% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]]. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.75% of the population.

There were 156 households, out of which 31.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.5% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 1.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% were non-families. 19.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 2.97.

In the village, the population was spread out, with 24.1% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 29.1% from 25 to 44, 23.3% from 45 to 64, and 17.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 108.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 110.4 males.
