==Geography==

[[Alabama State Route 14]] passes through the town, leading east {{convert|7|mi|0}} to [[Wetumpka, Alabama|Wetumpka]] and west {{convert|10|mi|0}} to [[Prattville, Alabama|Prattville]]. [[Montgomery, Alabama|Montgomery]], the state capital, is {{convert|15|mi}} to the south via Cook Road and Coosada Parkway.

At the [[2000 United States Census|2000 census]] there were 199 people, 77 households, and 55 families in the town. The population density was {{convert|302.9|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 88 housing units at an average density of {{convert|134.0|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  The [[Race and ethnicity in the United States Census#2000 census|racial makeup]] of the town was 67.84% White, 27.64% Black or African American, 1.51% Native American, 2.01% from other races, and 1.01% from two or more races. 1.51% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.<ref name="GR2">{{cite web |url=https://www.census.gov |publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]] |accessdate=January 31, 2008 |title=U.S. Census website }}</ref>
Of the 77 households 31.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.4% were married couples living together, 18.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.3% were non-families. 23.4% of households were one person and 9.1% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 3.07.
