Easton was laid out in the 1870s and named for Oliver C. [[Havana, Illinois|Havana]], the Mason [[county seat]], is {{convert|14|mi}} northwest of Easton.

The racial makeup of the village was 99.46% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]] and 0.54% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]].
