==Geography==
Dover is located on the south bank of the [[Ohio River]] and is bordered to the north by [[Brown County, Ohio]]. [[Kentucky Route 8]] runs along the southern edge of the city; the highway leads southeast (upriver) {{convert|12|mi}} to [[Maysville, Kentucky|Maysville]], the Mason [[county seat]], and west (downriver) {{convert|7|mi|0}} to [[Augusta, Kentucky|Augusta]].

The population density was {{convert|640.8|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 124 housing units at an average density of {{convert|251.4|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the city was 97.15% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.63% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.32% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 1.90% from two or more races.

There were 115 households, out of which 35.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.6% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 15.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.1% were non-families. 16.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.75 and the average family size was 3.00.

In the city the population was spread out, with 29.7% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 19.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females, there were 91.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 103.7 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $33,125, and the median income for a family was $32,250. Males had a median income of $35,208 versus $16,023 for females.
