According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the township has a total area of {{convert|35.3|sqmi|km2}}, all land.

==Demographics==
As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 3,249 people, 1,265 households, and 934 families residing in the township.  The population density was {{convert|92.1|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  There were 1,327 housing units at an average density of {{convert|37.6|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  The racial makeup of the township was 97.01% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.03% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.18% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 1.23% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.55% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.98% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 2.43% of the population.

There were 1,265 households, out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.2% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.1% were non-families. 23.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.  The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.01.

In the township the population was spread out, with 25.8% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 25.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who were 65 years of age or older.  The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 100.7 males.  For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.0 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $41,366, and the median income for a family was $50,417. Males had a median income of $38,352 versus $26,083 for females.
