Delta is located in the flatland adjacent to the east end of Hickory Ridge and east of the [[Whitewater River (Missouri)|Whitewater River]] south of the [[Headwater Diversion Channel]]. The [[population density]] was {{convert|1123.1|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 205 housing units at an average density of {{convert|525.6|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the city was 96.12% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]] and 3.88% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.46% of the population.

There were 179 households, of which 33.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.7% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 15.1% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 29.1% were non-families. 26.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
