The population was 1,639 at the 2010 census, up from 950 at the 2000 census. The [[2020 United States census]] reported that Del Rey had a population of 1,358. The population density was {{convert|1,017.2|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of Del Rey was 272 (20.0%) [[White Americans|White]], 13 (1.0%) [[African Americans|African American]], 18 (1.3%) [[Native Americans in the United States|Native American]], 45 (3.3%) [[Asian Americans|Asian]], 0 (0.0%) [[Pacific Islander Americans|Pacific Islander]], 695 (51.2%) from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 315 (23.2%) from two or more races. The census reported that 98.4% of the population lived in households, 1.6% lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and no one was institutionalized.<ref name=DP1/>

There were 371 households, out of which 152 (41.0%) had children under the age of 18 living in them, 156 (42.0%) were married-couple households, 31 (8.4%) were [[cohabitation|cohabiting]] couple households, 108 (29.1%) had a female householder with no partner present, and 76 (20.5%) had a male householder with no partner present. 65 households (17.5%) were one person, and 25 (6.7%) were one person aged 65 or older.
