The [[population density]] was {{convert|509.4|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 240 housing units at an average density of {{convert|282.4|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the city was 98.8% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.5% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 0.7% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.6% of the population.

There were 188 households, of which 25.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.0% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 17.6% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 33.5% were non-families. 25.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The racial makeup of the city was 97.63% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.58% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]] and 0.79% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]]. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.58% of the population.

There were 212 households, out of which 25.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.5% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 12.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.1% were non-families. 27.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.  The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.79.

In the city the population was spread out, with 24.7% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 24.9% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who were 65 years of age or older.  The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 101.2 males.  For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.9 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $24,722, and the median income for a family was $29,423. Males had a median income of $26,000 versus $13,875 for females.
