==Geography==
Connellsville Township is in northern Fayette County and is bordered to the south and west by the [[Youghiogheny River]], the city of [[Connellsville, Pennsylvania|Connellsville]], and the borough of [[South Connellsville, Pennsylvania|South Connellsville]]. Elevations range from {{convert|862|ft}} above sea level in the northwestern corner of the township along the Youghiogheny at Broadford, to {{convert|2320|ft}} along the eastern border of the township at the crest of [[Chestnut Ridge (Laurel Highlands)|Chestnut Ridge]]. According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the township has a total area of {{convert|29.78|km2|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|29.39|km2|order=flip}} is land and {{convert|0.39|km2|order=flip}}, or 1.32%, is water.<ref name="Census 2010"/>

The racial makeup was 99.07% White, 0.60% African American, 0.08% Asian, 0.04% from other races, and 0.20% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.12% of the population.

There were 1,032 households, out of which 26.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% were married couples living together, 9.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.7% were non-families. 25.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
