==Geography==
According to the [[U.S. Census Bureau]], the city has a total area of {{convert|26.1|km2|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|0.02|sqkm|order=flip|3}}, or 0.09%, is water.<ref name="Census 2010"/>

The center of Clio lies at the intersection of Alabama State Routes [[Alabama State Route 10|10]] and [[Alabama State Route 51|51]]. Highway 10 leads west 13 miles to [[Brundidge, Alabama|Brundidge]] and east 7 miles to [[Blue Springs, Alabama|Blue Springs]]. Highway 51 leads 11 miles south to [[Ariton, Alabama|Ariton]] and north 7 miles to [[Louisville, Alabama|Louisville]] and 16 miles to the county seat of [[Clayton, Alabama|Clayton]].

As of the [[2020 United States census]], there were 1,220 people, 442 households, and 238 families residing in the city.

The population density was {{convert|139|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 634 housing units at an average density of {{convert|62.7|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the town was 36.5% [[Race (United States Census)|Black]] or [[Race (United States Census)|African American]], 32.0% [[Race (United States Census)|White]],  0.4% [[Race (United States Census)|Native American]], 0.5% [[Race (United States Census)|Asian]], 0.1% [[Race (United States Census)|Pacific Islander]], 30.2% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and .4% from two or more races. 36.0% of the population were [[Race (United States Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Race (United States Census)|Latino]] of any race.

There were 514 households, out of which 28.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.4% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 19.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.5% were non-families. 30.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.72 and the average family size was 3.37.

In the town the population was spread out, with 26.2% under the age of 18, 12.9% from 18 to 24, 26.6% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 11.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31.8 years. For every 100 females, there were 95.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.4 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $21,806, and the median income for a family was $33,438. Males had a median income of $32,908 versus $25,625 for females.
