Clintondale is located at the northern town line of the [[Plattekill (town), New York|Town of Plattekill]]. The community is on [[U.S. Route 44 in New York|US Route 44]] and [[New York State Route 55|NY 55]] at the junction of County Route 22.

The population density was {{convert|254.7|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 586 housing units at an average density of {{convert|104.8|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the CDP was 89.96% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 4.35% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.49% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.84% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.07% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.35% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 3.93% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 3.65% of the population.

There were 542 households, out of which 34.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.9% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 8.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.0% were non-families. 27.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 3.21.

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 26.5% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.6 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $34,737, and the median income for a family was $55,074. Males had a median income of $33,405 versus $26,023 for females.
