==Geography==
According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of 30.5&nbsp;square miles (79.0&nbsp;km{{sup|2}}), of which 29.7&nbsp;square miles (76.8&nbsp;km{{sup|2}}) is land and 0.9&nbsp;square mile (2.2&nbsp;km{{sup|2}}) (2.82%) is water.

==Demographics==
At the [[2000 United States Census|2000 census]] there were 1,160 people, 396 households and 335 families living in the town. The population density was {{convert|39.1|/sqmi}}. There were 422 housing units at an average density of {{convert|14.2|/sqmi}}. The [[Race and ethnicity in the United States Census#2000 census|racial make-up]] of the town was 99.48% White, 0.09% Asian, 0.26% from other races, and 0.17% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.69%.<ref name="GR2" />

Of the 396 households, 39.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.2% were married couples living together, 6.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 15.4% were non-families. 10.4% of households were one person and 3.8% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.93 and the average family size was 3.12.

27.6% of the population were under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 30.9% from 25 to 44, 23.0% from 45 to 64, and 9.9% 65 or older. The median age was 35. For every 100 females, there were 107.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 109.0 males.
