==Geography==
Claypool is located in southern Gila County between [[Miami, Arizona|Miami]] to the west and [[Globe, Arizona|Globe]], the [[county seat]], to the east. [[U.S. Route 60 in Arizona|U.S. Route 60]] runs along the northern edge of the community.

The racial makeup of the CDP was 78.5% [[Race (United States Census)|White]], 1.0% [[Race (United States Census)|Black]] or [[Race (United States Census)|African American]], 1.6% [[Race (United States Census)|Native American]], 0.1% [[Race (United States Census)|Asian]], 15.8% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 3.1% from two or more races. 41.0% of the population were [[Race (United States Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Race (United States Census)|Latino]] of any race.

There were 683 households, out of which 29.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.5% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 11.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.8% were non-families. 24.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 3.14.

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 27.8% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 23.2% from 25 to 44, 25.9% from 45 to 64, and 15.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 93.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.6 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $34,196, and the median income for a family was $47,593. Males had a median income of $33,571 versus $23,661 for females.
