==Geography==

[[Alabama State Route 92]] passes through the center of town, leading east {{convert|20|mi}} to [[Dothan, Alabama|Dothan]] (via [[U.S. Route 84]]) and northwest {{convert|10|mi}} to [[Enterprise, Alabama|Enterprise]] (via [[Alabama State Route 167|AL 167]]). [[Alabama State Route 85]] leads north from Clayhatchee {{convert|5|mi|0}} to [[Daleville, Alabama|Daleville]] and southwest {{convert|17|mi}} to [[Geneva, Alabama|Geneva]].

The population density was {{convert|183.9|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 267 housing units at an average density of {{convert|98.0|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the town was 92.42% [[Race (United States Census)|white]], 4.19% [[Race (United States Census)|black]] or [[Race (United States Census)|African American]], 0.60% [[Race (United States Census)|Native American]], 0.80% [[Race (United States Census)|Asian]], 0.20% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 1.80% from two or more races. 1.80% of the population were [[Race (United States Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Race (United States Census)|Latino]] of any race.

There were 222 households, out of which 23.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.4% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 11.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.1% were non-families. 29.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.26 and the average family size was 2.75.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 21.0% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 24.2% from 25 to 44, 29.7% from 45 to 64, and 16.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females, there were 98.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.0 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $30,156, and the median income for a family was $34,821. Males had a median income of $26,354 versus $21,250 for females.
