==Geography==
Chilhowee is located on [[Missouri Route 2]] approximately two miles west of [[Post Oak, Missouri|Post Oak]] and [[Missouri Route 13]]. Old Chilhowee is one mile north on [[Missouri Route F]] and [[Denton, Johnson County, Missouri|Denton]] is four miles to the northwest on Route 2. The [[population density]] was {{convert|855.3|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 163 housing units at an average density of {{convert|428.9|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the village was 95.4% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.9% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 3.7% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.2% of the population.

There were 129 households, of which 36.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.6% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 14.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 9.3% had a male householder with no wife present, and 34.1% were non-families. 28.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 3.02.

The racial makeup of the village was 95.74% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.61% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.30% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 3.34% from two or more races.

There were 142 households, out of which 28.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.5% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 44.4% were non-families. 39.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 23.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 3.20.

In the village the population was spread out, with 26.1% under the age of 18, 9.7% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 18.2% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 98.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.2 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $29,688, and the median income for a family was $45,938. Males had a median income of $27,500 versus $20,625 for females.
